TL;DR
Lead AI Engineer (Voice): Lead the development of a Voice AI Agent and internal ML toolkit with an accent on real-time voice pipelines, ML model deployment, and applied LLMs. Focus on designing reliable real-time systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring production readiness for a rapidly growing AI speaking coach product.
Location: Full async remote, any timezone. Onboarding via Deel in [almost] any country. Cannot hire individuals located in Russia. Relocation to the U.S. available with H-1B visa sponsorship.

AlumniHub is building an AI Speaking Coach that listens to online calls to help users improve their English, having recently graduated from Y Combinator and grown rapidly to $5M ARR.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end development of the Voice AI Agent and internal ML toolkit, owning voice/real-time pipelines.
- Train and deploy various ML models (ASR, TTS, VAD, speaker/diarization, embeddings) to production.
- Implement applied ML solutions with LLMs, including RAG and tool-calling, balancing quality and cost.
- Design and maintain reliable real-time systems, focusing on idempotency, backpressure, and caching.
- Set up data pipelines for model training, evaluation, and regression testing.
- Maintain observability (Sentry, Prometheus/Grafana/Loki) and ensure quick issue resolution.
Requirements
- Experience in big tech, VC-backed startups, or Yandex.
- No experience in EPAM, outsourcing agencies, consulting, Web3, or gambling.
- Significant contributions to open-source GitHub repositories (>10 stars, >500 contributions in the past year).
- Active tech blog, Twitter, or Telegram channel.
- Concrete examples of awesome applications built or significantly contributed to.
- Any founder experience (even unsuccessful).
- Good taste and hands-on design experience.
- Warm recommendations from colleagues or CEOs/CTOs.
- English: B2 required (implied).
